Hi I wanna change the template of my blog using on of the XML
templates from the website:
http://beautifulbeta.blogspot.com/2007/01/new-blogger-template-hobbit.html
INSTALLATION
------------
1. BACKUP OLD TEMPLATE
Customize your Blog, go to the Edit HTML-tab, and download the current
template file to your
PC to back it up.
Also, copy the contents of sidebar elements, link lists and so on, as
installing a new template will overwrite them.
2. UPLOAD IMAGE FILES
Upload all image files (.gif and .jpg) to a webhoting service (such as
Google Pages)
3. UPLOAD TEMPLATE FILE
From the Edit HTML-tab of your blog, upload the .xml template file.
After uploading, browse the skin-part of the template for all the
styling-definitions that have "url", such
as url(bg.jpg). Add the path to the hosted image files to the url
( for example: url(http://yourhost.com/images/bg.jpg).
Now save the template.
4. ADD THE MENUBAR
Go to the Page Elements tab, and add a Link List Page Element to the
top of your Blog.
This is the menubar.
Without the menubar, the template will not render correctly (the
dagger up left seems to be broken).
5. ADD A FOOTER
Go to the Page Elements tab, and add a Link List Page Element to the
top of your Blog.
This is the menubar.
Without the menubar, the template will not render correctly (the
dagger up left seems to be broken).
5. ADD A FOOTER
Add a footer with a link to ArcSin and a link to Beautiful Beta.
I followed the instructions, upload the images to photobucket, when I
upload the xml template to the site, my site looks like this:
http://newbiesnz.blogspot.com/
The other thing I don't understand is, once the templates been
uploaded the page element tab is lost so where can I add another page
element onto it?
Is it practically not usable?
Thanks
So how can I make my blog just as similar to the one they shown?
