It is usually better to start new threads for new topics, for example,
some readers might not be interested in the original question and skip
this thread, making it less likely that someone will answer.

In W3C XML Schema that is currently not possible, you would have to use
a pattern instead listing all possible spellings, for example, you would
write an enumeration member "example" as a pattern

  [eE][xX][aA][mM][pP][lL][eE]

since patterns cannot be specified as case-insensitive either.
