KB927978 - Repeated Installs

From: Vijay2U@-----------.---------.---

I have two SATA hard disks on my computer and DAILY see new file folders
appearing on my non-boot drive containing a logfile about installing this
upate. The last few lines of each file is:

MSI (s) (CC:E8) [03:01:30:453]: Product: MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB927978) --
Configuration completed successfully.

MSI (s) (CC:E8) [03:01:30:453]: Cleaning up uninstalled install packages, if
any exist
MSI (s) (CC:E8) [03:01:30:453]: MainEngineThread is returning 0
MSI (s) (CC:58) [03:01:30:453]: Destroying RemoteAPI object.
MSI (s) (CC:A8) [03:01:30:453]: Custom Action Manager thread ending.
=== Logging stopped: 2/2/2007  3:01:30 ===
MSI (c) (70:28) [03:01:30:500]: Decrementing counter to disable shutdown. If
counter >= 0, shutdown will be denied. Counter after decrement: -1
MSI (c) (70:28) [03:01:30:500]: MainEngineThread is returning 0
=== Verbose logging stopped: 2/2/2007  3:01:30 ===

Apparently the install suceeds but I will see the folder the next day (as
well as the update will appear in the Windows Update screen). How do I get
the update to really install and I can stop seeing these new folders?
