 this compares the one node, but what I am looking for is that the 
attributes are different between the two pairs...

   //aml:annotion[@aml:id = '1'   <---this one
                       and
                         @w:type = 'Word.Bookmark.Start'
                      and
                       following-sibling::*[1]
                                      [self::aml:annotation
                                   and
                                      @aml:id = '0'    <--- and this one
                                   and
                                      @w:type = 'Word.Bookmark.End'
                                     ]
                         ]


to be different...?
