XSD files

When I try to read any of my XLM files, the read fails because some of the
elements (or attributes) are very big. I thought the XSD file listed at the
begininng
of the file would relay the data types needed. But as far as I can tell,
this does
not happen. When I try to access the named file in internet explorer, I get
a message the file cannot be read. Yet, I have downloaded it. Here are a few
of the references given in my XML files...

....:schemaLocation=

"http://www.landxml.org/schema/LandXML-1.0

http://www.landxml.org/schema/LandXML-1.0/LandXML-1.0.xsd"

xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"

xmlns="http://www.landxml.org/schema/LandXML-1.0">

I am not sure which reference I should check, none of them
seems to work for the XML files I have tried with samples code
I have tried.

The XSD referenced above is about 70 printed pages long.
Is MSXML supposed to use this as a reference on how to parse
the XLM file?
