XML Dom failure with large amount of data

Hi,

I am using XML over HTTP to transfer data from a database over the
internet/intranet to client workstations. THis has been working fine for
years, using MSXML 3. Yesterday, I found an issue with large data sets.

When a large data set (I don't know exactly what the lower boundary of
'large' is yet) is put into the return DOM on the web server, all that the
client receives is an error message: XML document must have a top level
element. If I cut down the number of return values, the correct, expected
result is received.

Is there a size limit to the data coming down the wire via this mechanism?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob
