we have found that when using the xmlDomDocument.load() method with msxml
version 3 and 4, that the generated http request does not include an
if-none-match header to support cache validation using etags. Version 5 of
msxml does properly handle cache validation.
We have also found that msxml2.xmlhttp versions 3,4 and 5 do all properly
support the if-none-match cache validation.
We believe that at some point in the past that version 4 DID properly
support cache validation, but that this capability might have been broken at
some point, possibly with an OS service pack or msxml service pack.
Any knowlege on this issue, how to work around it , or obtain a fix would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks
