Where is your XML then, how does it look, does it contain the data (e.g. <number>5></number><number>6</number>) or does it contain the complete expression (e.g. <expression>5+6</expression>). What do you want to do, create a new XML document with the result e.g. <result>11</result> or do you want to change the existing XML? Or do you want to simple parse out the XML data and get the result of the sum as text?
