We have been using a very simple XmlTextReader object to access an xml file
located on an http server.
Every thing's straight forward so far.
Some of our clients have very protective Proxy Servers that require
authentication before they allow any external communications.
Now, we have solved this problem for all of our Web Service communications,
but we cannot find a solution for this simple XmlTextReader.
I can, obviously, supply Credentials whilst setting the XmlResolver property
of the XmlTextReader object - but these only seem to be picked up by the
end-point server, not the Proxy in-between.
Any help / examples would be most welcome.
Example code follows:
private XmlTextReader LoadFile(string fileLocation)
{
XmlTextReader reader = null;
try
{
reader = new XmlTextReader(fileLocation);
}
catch (System.Net.WebException e)
{
// Code will throw a System.Net.WebException with the message
// 'The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.'
}
return reader;
}
