If you are using a redirect which sends a 301 or 302 code to the client, you are going to get this error. The problem is the Internet Explorer security settings. If 'Access data sources across domains' is disabled, then the XMLHttp object will fire an 'Access denied' when you call the 'Send' method. This setting is under the 'Security'(set it to custom, and click teh Custom Level button) tab in the IE control panel. The funny thing is, when I put the URL into IE, it works fine. Hope this helps, Elazar "Joe Fawcett" wrote: > "Robert Cholewa" <robert.cholewa@t...> wrote in message > news:aeb3293e.0411251159.2dce1e14@p...... > > > Forgot you'd never seen the script: > > > > well, trying this script results with an error: > > code: 80070005, desc: Access denied > > at line with call to send() method > > > > I've tried it with Msxml2.XmlHttp.4.0(SP2) and 3.0(SP5) > > on Windows NT, 2000 and XP > > > > after doing some search I've found the way to go is > > to run 'proxycfg -d' which is a part of msxml 4.0? > > > > the problem is the script has to work on many OS's > > including win2000 and 98 (where no WINHTTP5 is installed) > > > > do you know which registry settings I have to set > > to simulate execution of 'proxycfg -d'? > > or have any other ideas? > > > > > > greetings, > > Rob > > Are you running this from a server, I've never seen this message from a > standard desktop? > > -- > > Joe (MVP) > > > | ||||||
