I have a .Net service application that uses the System.Xml.XmlNode class to
hold xml nodes read from a configuration file. Each xml node object is then
stored in an Array List. I iterate over the Array List to get the values of
a specific attribute in each node.
All this works fine in my debug environment (.Net 2003, Framework v.1.1,
WinXP,SP1) with no problems. But when the application is deployed on a
(Win2K Server, .Net Framework v.1.0 and v.1.1 installed) I am receiving an
exception that says my XmlNode object is not set to an instance of an object.
I placed test code in various parts of the app trying to debug and always
get the same result. Below is a sample code, I am performing.
foreach (Object oEvent in alExcludeEvents)
{
System.Xml.XmlNode currentEvent = (XmlNode) oEvent;
// Fails when trying to get named item. object not set to an instance of
an object.
string strCurrPattern =
currentEvent.Attributes.GetNamedItem("pattern").Value;
// do something with the attribute value.
}
I am stumped.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards
VB
