If it goes through mswish by the time answers come out there will be 40 different programs writing WordML 40 different ways and the spec will be as confused as the rtf spec is. I know you can send requests back to the development groups. Many company companies are writing code today creating WordML and SpreadsheetML files. This code will ship within weeks (in our case at least). We would like to match the spec. But if we have to guess, we will guess if that is our only option. But I think it's worth asking the Word group if they will clarify things now. thanks - dave ps - And if the official answer is go ahead and guess - that's fine. But I suspect that the Word group would not be in favor of that as they will then have to parse all of those different interpretations in the next version of Word.
