I hope it helps. It's actually changed a bit since I first found it ... 
there used to be some quite good links to tutorial articless and a nice 
on-line reference. It's still useful, though.

I also like the O'Reilly "XML in a Nutshell" book, though I haven't seen 
the new 3rd edition.
