You can preload schemas e.g. JScript with MSXML 4
   var schemaCache = new ActiveXObject('Msxml2.XMLSchemaCache.4.0');
   schemaCache.add('http://example.com/2004/10/someNamespace', 
'http://host.example.org/someLocation/whatever.xsd');
   schemaCache.add('http://example.com/2004/10/someOtherNamespace',
  'http://host.example.org/someLocation/whatelse.xsd');
then later on for your DOMDocument set
   xmlDocument.schemas = schemaCache;
before you call the load method.
