MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP
I get the following error using MSXML3 on my new windows 2003
machine... (Note, the code works well on Windows 2000):
msxml3.dll error '80004005'
that is on the .Send() method. using GET or POST. Some urls work, but
the urls that return large data or asp pages don't work... (I've given
up with MSXML3 and Installed, msxml4.dll).
Problem solved? NOOOOOOO...
Now, I get this error:
MSXML4 Access denied
I read through the newsgroups, and i was redirected to this page:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;820882&Product=msxml#6
followed all the instructions, still the problem persists...
Now, they are suggesting that, If i still have the problem, try these
methods:
----------------------------------------
Method 1: Run the specified Web sites, or virtual directories in a
separate IIS pool ,and then create a user that the pool will run
under.
Method 2: Create a new DLL, write code to do ServerXMLHTTP calls, and
then host the DLL in COM+ under a new user.
Method 3: Use WinHTTP by changing the Prog ID from
MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.4.0 to WinHTTP.WinHTTPRequest.5.1.
----------------------------------------
The cure here sounds worst than the desease...
Questions:
- Why microsoft makes upgrades that do not work? If you are upgrading,
make sure the users applications will run on the upgrade...
- Is then MSXML2 absolete after SP2? because It won't definately work
on my Windows 2003 server and so I think that might be it because soon
people will upgrade to Windows 2003. I don't have enhanced internet
security installed.
- Can anyone suggest a solution here...
