I wasn't thinking of JavaScript, I was simply referring to the "detailed" MSDN documentation for selectSingleNode... Return Value Object. Returns the first node that matches the XSL or XPath query. If no nodes match the query, it returns Null. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/xmlsdk30/htm/xmmthselectsinglenode.asp Now, wouldn't you assume that you could use IsNull() to see if the object returned Null?
