That last "S" in "RSS" is usually thought of as "Summary".  The idea
behind it isn't necessarily that you should read an RSS feed, rather
that it should indicate to you that the resource the item links to is
worth reading in its entirety from its "home" site.

Of course RSS is a broad church and you can do whatever you like with
it. But this is a valid way to use it and presumably what the Google
developers' intention was. After all, it's easier to serve you ads if
you do your bulk reading through Gogle directly.


RSS must be a church. It has a self-appointed Pope and a whole load of
heretics   8-)
