Thank you very much, Vlad!

Thank you very much, Vlad! I just am lookign into these.
In my xmlfile the headers are
Code:<headnum>1.</headnum><headtitle>Main Type</headtitle>
and so on, so I would need to get these two elements into the toc as two separate entries for inserting into a table layout. The examples all have one element only as entry, then auto-generate numbering.

Hallo all, is it possible to have more than one text field (i.e. ref-entrytext) or additional fields in a table of content? Can I layout a table of contents as table?
from text
"1. Main Item" ... a) New Items to Come" ...
to table of content:
1...Main Type .....a)....New Items to Come ............aa)....Next Entry
like a real table (I cannot enter a table in the message, so I did it with "...").
The manual is not very specific about many topics, and I did not find any books about working with Stylevision till now, so I am running into problems rather often ...
Best regards herbi

Hi again,
I seem to have a general problem with dynamic tables:
1) insert table - dynamic table - selecting tr from schema structure and expanding left to right (I guess that is the expression in the english version...) and selecting td as table element generates a table with all the columns but only one row (of course)
... - selecting tbody as table and tr as element - expanding top to bottom gives all the rows but with one cell containing all td text...
Trying table for row and inserting tabele for td into that generates all text but makes a new table for each row with different cell widths...
2) how can I use the values of col width="100" span="1 ... for each table cell? As xpath in td element definiton??
3) Even after definign tables and activating xml tables for authentic I cannot access the table handling symbol icons in authentic - do I have to activate something here, too?
Sorry for that lot - the manual does not cover those items very clearly ....
Is there perhaps an sps example code to look at and analyze a bit? That should be helpful.
Many thanks

Hi again,
many thanks for you help in this forum so far. I ran on a new problem tonight:
I activate "authentic HTML tables" in Stylevision, so authentic user can insert tables. That works, but: no chance to do anything with or in that table then ...
DTD file has an element paragraph in which table is allowed (anf tbody, tr, td...), but within each td there has to a further element "text" as a kind of paragraph in table cells. I guess that causes the problem, for the table activation knows and accepts "td" but doesn't know about "text".
Is there a way to "pre-define" that ugly "text" element, too, so that the table can be modified by the authentic user. Defining "td/text" in user specified does not seem to work.
Many thanks again, I hope I did not confuse that too much herbi

Hi, is there a way to enclose marked text with tags in Authentic, i.e. if an author marks a word (just like in MS Office) and wants to add attribute "bold" to it. I cannot find that in Authentic?
Thank you herbi
|
Hi, in an sps file of a given xml I have some element <enhanced type="bold">, <enhanced type="italic"> and so on.
The element is defined as global with conditions bold italic ...
Result is showing fine in Athentic Desktop, but I am not able to reformat text from regular to bold or italic while editing. Am I missing something global here?
The attribute helper only shows the attributes in text already marked, but new or regular text does not show any "enhanced" attributes here.
Thanks in advance

Hallo Vlad,
thank you again. I changed to XSLT 1.0 (and removed some of the 2.0-stuff) but still get error messages in Word concerning the $Altova definitons.
I will try generating xslt for word2007 docx - perhaps that one might work

Hallo again, Vlad,
I realize that the xml file with direct input of diacritical characters is valid, but as I sometimes have to produce xml for other writers (with other methods and ways of text input) it would be preferable to have those characters encoded in a unique coding (that is i.e. as ß not ß).
Should be no problem to do this in a perl just after saving the changed file but I had hoped that there was a way in the Altova program (as the reverse way works there).
Thank you for your help and many greetings to Mauritius herbi

Hallo Vald,
thank you for answering my question!
I just wanted to find out how Word20030 can be used as an input editor for xml file text editing (not structuring) in a graphical environment.
Word is able to read xml files and present them as text and tags, but there also is the option to open the xml file with a corresponding xsl file to present the text in a "layout view" (Word calls it "browser view").
But as the Stylevision generated xsl seems to contain at least one variable that cannot be interpreted, it now fails. I thought if I find out where that one comes from I might succeed.
