When attempting to generate a schema from a sample XML file, I can't seem to get the generator to create named elements instead of referenced elements. Also, the "root" element isn't clearly generated, there are just a number of nodes created. What are the correct parameters to select from the generation screen to create a very simple schema with no types, no references, and simple named elements with a root element identical to the xml provided?

What's currently generated:

<xs:element ref="Phone"/>
<xs:element ref="Email"/>
<xs:element ref="Fax"/>
<xs:element ref="Website"/>
<xs:element ref="FolderPath"/>
<xs:element ref="RegionalCode"/>[/left]

This will get you as close as possible to what you need. If you then need to remove type="xs:string" from the schema once it has been generated you can so this using the replace functionality ( EDIT | Replace):
