I am doing a DB to EDIFACT mapping with Altova MapForce.

I want that, when some value in DB is present, the output is like:

RFF+BN:number'

But, when it is null, I want it to be like:

RFF+BN:'

I used an if-else component which inserts either the number or "" (empty string) depending on whether the value is present on DB or not. But when it is null, instead of inserting "", MapForce ignores the field, causing it to be RFF+BN'.

How can I achieve this?

I may be wrong but im sure if the field contains nothing then edifact standard dictates is wont exist, so what you may be trying to do is not correct
